Before thinking about
IIT JEE exam, you need to know what are IIT’s. Indian Institutes of Technology
or IIT’s are the most esteemed institutions in India, which provide globally
recognized high-quality education in the field of science and technology. The
students of IIT’s are regarded as extremely skilled professionals who are
capable of taking the world to the next level. Every year top worldwide
engineering and technology companies hire hundreds of professionals from IIT’s
to grow their business. Towards the end of final semester, almost all the IIT
students get placed in top MNC’s with good salary packages.
Now students aspiring to
get into IITs, need to attend both JEE Main and JEE Advanced (after clearing
JEE Main).
· JEE-Main is for those
who wish to seek admission in IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information
Technology), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), CFTIs (Central Funded
Technical Institute) and so on.
· JEE-Advanced is for
those who wish to seek admission in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)
and the Indian School of Mines (ISM) (Dhanbad). The candidates who apply
for JEE Main also have the option to apply for JEE Advanced.
If you
are aiming for IIT JEE, it is good have a clear idea about the examination
pattern and eligibility criteria before writing the exam. Here are a few useful
information about the examination:
JEE
Main 2016 eligibility
- Only class XII passed or equivalent
exam or qualifying exam passed students will be allowed to appear JEE Main
2016 exam.
- Candidates appearing for qualifying
exams are also eligible to write JEE Main 2016.
- DOB of General/OBC candidates
appearing for JEE Main 2016 must be on or after 1st October 1991.
But, for reserved candidates there is a 5 year relaxation in age limit.
- The candidate must clear all the five
subjects before appearing for the exam.
- Those candidates who had passed class
XII in or before 2013 are not eligible to appear JEE Main 2016.
- A candidate will be allowed to appear
only 3 times for the JEE exam.
Exam
pattern of JEE Main 2016
- The
whole JEE Main exam consists of a total number of 90 questions. Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics will carry 30 questions each.
- JEE-Main
Exam contains two Papers namely Paper-1 and Paper-2. Both these
papers carries Multiple Choice Questions and there will be negative
marking for every wrong answer.
- Paper-1
is for those who wish to seek admission into B.Tech/B.E. (online and
offline). Paper-2 is for those who wish to seek admission into B.Arch and
B.Planning (offline only).
- Time allotted for each paper is 3 hours and applicants can apply to either one of these papers or both of them.
