- Study material for CA exam
When it comes to study material for CA exam students usually research and spend a lot of time to study the same subject or topic from different sources. This is wrong and students should only follow one book for each preparatory topic. The book should ideally have booked from the ones by ICAI, or other trust worthy publishers. However, jumbling too many books or notes for learning the same topic can make the process redundant and time consuming.
- Time distribution
CA is not about a detailed study of every topic in the syllabus. It’s about learning as much as possible for each topic yet, not missing out on any of the module or chapter. So, prior to any of the CA exam, ensure you have a clean idea about the entire syllabus for each subject and then go for a detailed knowledge about the important topics.
- Solve old papers
Alike any other exam, the primitive tip stands true for CA exam as well. Do solve old papers for CA exam. The only glitch that students face while solving old CA paper is, the syllabus changes and so it’s tough for them to understand the questions. In case of syllabus change in CA, go topic wise for each paper, short list the questions that are relevant to the present syllabus and solve them.
- Dealing theory paper
In all three exams of CA, there are some theory papers that needs a little bit of mugging up. How boring it might sound, to score good in CA exam, students must do this beat. To make it easy, the suggestion is - try learning CA theory paper in the morning. As you have a clear head in the morning, mugging up becomes an easy and faster process.
- Coaching timings
It’s true that CA coaching is very important. However, some students spend more of fun time in the coaching which kills their available study time, ending in poor performance. Also, going to coaching alone won’t solicit the goal of becoming a successful CA. Its recommended to take up classes seriously when there is enough time in hand; however, use the last two - three months before exams only for self-study for CA exam.
- Secure and utilize revision time
As suggested earlier, you got to keep a reserved revision time for self-study before CA exams. During this span, ensure you study six to eight hours and keeping balanced attention to all the papers you must prepare for. Spending extra hours on the same topic or missing out on any topic from CA syllabus are major mistakes, which you should not do.
